During the past five years, the Power of E3 Conference for women ages 55+ has raised a total of $32,000 to support women in need of healthcare. Through Sacred Heart Health System’s Women’s Care Center in Pensacola, women in need are identified to qualify for financial support from these funds to obtain lifesaving health screenings including mammograms and pap smears.
E3 stands for “Educate Enlighten Empower.” Signature sponsors are Sacred Heart Senior Services and Mainstay Financial Group. Each conference features a nationally known speaker and local presenters who discuss financial well-being as well as physical and emotional health.
“This conference is helping to save women’s lives and improve the quality of life for many women who otherwise would be unable to obtain these screenings,” said Dr. Suzanne Bush, an obstetrician/gynecologist and medical director of the Women’s Care Center. “For those who attend the conference, they receive inspiration and vital education at a stage in their lives when they are going through physical changes and looking ahead to retirement and the financial changes that phase of life brings.”
The most recent conference, held in April, raised $9,000. Keynote speaker was Julie Clark Lingen, a national award-winning speaker, author and life coach. Also, providing presentations were Susan Burke, PT, MS, DPT of Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Services, who discussed how to stay physically strong and healthy; Annalee Leonard, President of Mainstay Financial Group, who talked about financial wellness; and Cindy Brown, owner of Organize Ect!, who shared tips to clear the clutter and be better organized. Sue Straughn of WEAR TV-3 serves as the emcee at each conference.
Participants also enjoy a luncheon, and Chico’s provides the outfits models feature during a fashion show as part of the activities.
